Welcome to a new year of scouting with Troop 1!
The PLC met over the summer and set an exciting calendar of events for the year. We have lots of camping and outings planned, including the favorites from last year along with some new trips. Check out the Troop calendar on the website for a preview of the year.
Thank you to the PLC for coming in last weekend and cleaning the scout hall and tents. Let’s all try to keep it clean.
This firehouse has become more active and we need to make sure that firefighters can quickly access the building. Scouts, please remind your parents to not park immediately next to or in front of the building.
September Camping: We have dueling camping trips planned for the weekend of September 19-20th: a backpacking trip in Vermont and a local Troop campout.
Due to the physicality and necessary outdoor skills, backpacking is open to scouts with a minimum of Tenderfoot rank OR those at least 14 years old. More details to come as this trip is planned.
Those not attending backpacking are invited to the Troop campout. We will leave from the firehouse on Saturday morning. Location and details are TBD. There will be ample opportunity during this campout to work on rank advancement and scout skills.
Fundraising: Our annual popcorn fundraiser kicks off now. Families that participated last year can pick up shift this weekend through the Trails End App. Those new to the fundraiser will be invited to join in storefronts next weekend.
Patrol Time – if you didn’t elect patrol leads and assistant patrol leads in the spring, please do so now. Then grab your patrol boxes and make sure they’re complete & clean. Let the quartermaster know if you’re missing anything. Any remaining time can be used for advancement.
