Popcorn Fundraising

Each fall, Troop 1 fundraises for troop operations and outing such as summer camp and High Adventure treks. The popcorn fundraiser is our only fundraiser for the year and runs from September through October.

Scouts will have many opportunities for new experiences and amazing adventures throughout their scouting career. But these adventures aren’t free. This is easiest and fastest way to pay for these adventures.

33% of each scout’s sales is credited into their ‘scout account’ and can be used to pay for dues, campouts, summer camp, and High Adventure trips. Additional rewards are offered through gift cards and top seller incentives.

The fundraiser is administered through Trails End. If this is your first year, register for an account and enter Unit code Y4YH7. Download the Trails End app on the scout’s (or parent’s) phone.

Popcorn is sold through Wagon, Storefront, and Online sales.

  • Wagon (door to door) sales
    • Sell to family, friends, neighbors, etc
    • The preferred method to record sales is through the trails end app
    • The paper order form can be used to show the product lineup and take orders if you do not have a phone.
    • Payments should be collected in cash or credit card (via the app). Scouts will be provided the popcorn by November 15th for them to deliver to each customer.

  • Storefront sales
    • The troop will be fundraising in front of local stores throughout the fall. This is the easiest way for scouts to sell. We typically sell in front of Lowe’s and Tractor Supply in Leominster.
    • Sign-ups are offered each week for the upcoming weekend.
    • Submit your availability each week by the end of Wednesday. Schedules will be sent out on Thursdays.
    • Do not sign up for a shift in the Trails End app. We will sign scouts up for their selected shifts.
    • Scouts should arrive promptly and in full uniform for their assigned shifts. A parent/guardian must stay at the storefront for the entire shift.
    • Make sure you have the Trails End app downloaded and logged in before arriving.
  • Online sales
    • This is a great way to sell to non-local friends and family. Sales are credited to each scout as long as the customer uses their unique link.
    • Create or update your page in the Online Sales section of the app. Provide a quick bio and let people know how the money will be used.
    • Get your online store link in the trails end app or website and send it to anyone that might buy.
    • Note that all online orders are shipped directly to the customer. The only way for a scout to deliver the popcorn in person is to use a Wagon sale (see above).
