SUMMARY:Spring Camporee
DESCRIPTION:Troop 1 is attending the Spring Camporee\, hosted by Catamount Lodge. There will be shows and activities like shooting sports\, field sports\, and more to try to win the Catamount Cup! \nArrive at the South Lancaster Firehouse by 5:45pm on Friday to be ready for a 6pm departure.\nWe will return to the Firehouse at 10am on Sunday. \nEach patrol is cooking breakfast for both days and Saturday dinner. Saturday lunch is provided by the camporee. Check in with your patrol lead if you have any questions on food. \nThere will be a short hike from the parking area to our campsite. Scouts will need to carry their personal gear.  \nNot sure what you need to bring? Check the Camping chapter in the Scout Handbook (page 268 in the latest edition) and/or the list below: \n\nFull Uniform (Shirt\, pants\, socks\, belt)\nPocketknife\nFirstaid Kit\nRain Gear\nWater Bottle\nFlashlight\nSnacks\nMatches\nSun protection\nInsect Repelent\nClothing appropriate for the weather\nSleeping Bag\nSleeping Pad\nMess kit (plate\, utensils\, etc depending on your Patrol’s menu)\nToiletries\nBackpack or other bag that you can carry easily\nTent (Optional\, troop tents are available for use. DESCRIPTION:Depart firehouse at 6:30 AM on Saturday\nReturn to firehouse by noon on Sunday \nA scenic hike to Lonesome Lake and/or Cannon Summit plus free time to explore\, a big dinner and a roaring campfire. Snow showers are in the forecast so bring layers\, warm footwear\, hat and gloves\, and a good sleeping bag. If you only have a three season bag bring extra blankets. We only have to walk a short distance to the campsite so carrying an\nextra duffel along with your backpack is fine. \nEat breakfast before you go. Bring a trail lunch for Saturday. The troop will cook dinner Saturday and a hot breakfast on Sunday. Bring bowl\, cup\, f/k/s etc. and $10 to cover the cost of food. Scouts should arrive Saturday morning prepared to hike. Most of us will bring a separate day pack with our lunch\, water bottle\, and hiking essentials so we don’t have to carry a full pack up the mountain.

DESCRIPTION:Once again troop will be attending Camp Wanocksett during Week #7\, which is August 10 thru 16. To qualify for the early bird discount price of $565 we need your payment no later than April 29. Scouts can still register after April 29th but the price goes up to $595.\nIf you just joined the troop are welcome to pay now but the early bird discount will be available to you until June 15th. For new parents and anyone who has questions about camp\, an informational meeting will be held in May/June. At it we will provide information about health forms\, dietary issues\, merit badge registration\, what to bring\, and answer any questions you may have about camp.
