SUMMARY:Spring Camporee
DESCRIPTION:Troop 1 is attending the Spring Camporee\, hosted by Catamount Lodge. There will be shows and activities like shooting sports\, field sports\, and more to try to win the Catamount Cup! \nArrive at the South Lancaster Firehouse by 5:45pm on Friday to be ready for a 6pm departure.\nWe will return to the Firehouse at 10am on Sunday. \nEach patrol is cooking breakfast for both days and Saturday dinner. Saturday lunch is provided by the camporee. Check in with your patrol lead if you have any questions on food. \nThere will be a short hike from the parking area to our campsite. Scouts will need to carry their personal gear.  \nNot sure what you need to bring? Check the Camping chapter in the Scout Handbook (page 268 in the latest edition) and/or the list below: \n\nFull Uniform (Shirt\, pants\, socks\, belt)\nPocketknife\nFirstaid Kit\nRain Gear\nWater Bottle\nFlashlight\nSnacks\nMatches\nSun protection\nInsect Repelent\nClothing appropriate for the weather\nSleeping Bag\nSleeping Pad\nMess kit (plate\, utensils\, etc depending on your Patrol’s menu)\nToiletries\nBackpack or other bag that you can carry easily\nTent (Optional\, troop tents are available for use. New scouts are encouraged to use troop tents.)

SUMMARY:Memorial Day Parade
DESCRIPTION:Troop 1 is marching in the Memorial Day Parade on Monday\, May 25th. The ceremony starts at 9am. Scouts should be at the Lancaster Town Green no later than 8:45 AM. Parking downtown can get crowded so plan on arriving early. Scouts should arrive in full uniforms. This includes a Scout shirt with properly located patches\, pants\, and Scout belt. If you wear Scout shorts you need Scout socks. A Scout hat and neckerchief are encouraged but optional. \nIn celebration of the 250th anniversary of our country\, we are marching to the Middle Cemetery this year to honor the Revolutionary War vets buried there. Troop 1 will also have a special guest speaker at the ceremony! \nThe parade should finish at the Town Green around 11am.

SUMMARY:Campout
DESCRIPTION:Troop 1 is headed to Greenfield State Park\, May 29th through the 31st. Activities include hiking up Crotched Mountain and an Iron Chef competition for dinner. We will be departing the firehouse at 6pm on Friday and returning Sunday at 11:30am. Cooking is by patrol and should include two breakfasts\, one lunch and one dinner. The Saturday breakfast should be a hot breakfast. Saturday lunch should be something you make on site but can be carried with you while hiking. Saturday dinner is a hot meal for the Iron Chef competition. Stoves\, campfires or charcoal can be used for hot meals.
