Announcements 10/22/26

We are headed to Cook Conservation for camping this weekend, October 24-25. Arrive on Saturday by 8am at the Cook Conservation parking lot (Rt 70 south of Kimball’s). You’ll be hiking in so make sure you can carry all your personal gear in one trip. Parents should pick you up at 9:15am on Sunday from Cook Conservation.

Overnight temperatures will be in the mid-30s and Scouts need to come prepared for the weather. This means a sleeping bag with a 20 degree rating or extra blankets, a sleeping pad, and warm clothes to sleep in.

There are no bathroom facilities at Cook Conservation. Scouts should be prepared with any personal hygiene supplies they need – hand sanitizer, toilet paper, etc.

Patrol leaders should give the final attendance list to our Scribe, Vinny, during patrol time. It is the Patrol leaders responsibility to contact other scouts if they do not know if they’re attending.

Patrol time should be used to finalize your duty roster and menu and make sure you have a Scout assigned to shop. As a reminder, Saturday lunch should be a quick meal without cleanup that can be taken on the trail if needed. Dinner is a hot meal cooked over a stove or fire. Breakfast should be a cold meal.

Scouts should check out any tents and stoves they need from the Quartermaster, Evan. Each patrol should have one scout take home all Patrol gear and bring it to Cooks on Saturday.

Senior Patrol should make sure all necessary Troop gear is prepared for the trip.

Any extra patrol time can be used to work on advancement.
