Troop 1 Dominates the Roundtable Iron Chef Challenge!
With a record breaking, standing room only attendance of over 50 participants, Troop 1 Lancaster decimated Pack #32 Boxborough in the February 2017 Roundtable Iron Chef Challenge – “Chocolate Covered Something”.
Voting was fierce and went into overtime (much like the Super Bowl), but Troop 1 emerged victorious with a stunning 4-1 margin.
As winner of this month’s “Golden Spork”, we get to decorate the Spork as we see fit before we pass it on at next month’s Roundtable. Ideas for “blinging” the Spork are appreciated.
Note that the Cub Scouts brought in chocolate covered strawberries (upper left in photos), the rest of the table is from Troop 1 Lancaster!!!
At the Roundtable we learned more about Duty to God for all Scouting ranks and the Religious Emblem Awards.
Our SPL, Jack as well as Mr. von Linden and Mr. Aurin learned from other Troops how they schedule and run their Troop and PLC (Patrol Leader Council) meetings.
Many thanks to the Scouts and Parents who contributed to our win. Here’s a list of the “Chocolate Covered Everything” that were brought to the Roundtable from our Troop:
- Potato Chips
- Beef Jerky
- Crispy Noodles
- Gummy Bears (a crowd favorite)
- Jalapenos w/honey (another crowd favorite)
- Sweet Mesquite BBQ Potato Chips covered in Dark Chocolate
- Black Pepper Potato Chips covered in Milk Chocolate
Non-chocolate covered (but chocolate was involved):
- Andes Mint Chocolate Cookies
The leftovers will be brought to Wedneday’s Troop meeting to be enjoyed by the Scouts.
